Excessive sweating is a common condition that can often cause embarrassment and distress for the sufferer.

It can occur in many different areas of the body and is often very visible to people around you. The condition is called Hyperhidrosis, which means ‘excessive sweating’. Unfortunately, there are currently no over the counter or prescribed Hyperhidrosis Treatments.

Sweating is necessary to control body temperature during times of exercise and in warm or hot surroundings, and it is a normal response to a rise in temperature or even anxiety.

However, in some people this system is revved-up and works at a very high level, causing sweating to occur at inappropriate times, far more than the amount necessary to maintain normal body temperature.

Research demonstrates that treating areas such as armpits, feet, hands, and other small areas with Botox has proven results in reducing or even stopping excessive sweating.

It is very safe and effective and when used to treat the underarm area, Botox has been shown to result in an 82-87% decrease in sweating.

Results can be very noticeable approximately 2 to 4 days after treatment.

The full effects are usually noticed within 2 weeks of Hyperhidrosis Treatment.

Dryness typically lasts 4 to 12 months but some studies have found it can last as long as 14 months in some patients.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment results in meaningful, long-lasting improvements in a patient’s symptoms, daily functioning, and quality of life.

If Hyperhidrosis is affecting your life and you'd like to talk to us about using Botox as a treatment, please get in touch and book your free consultation.
