Can my Dentist perform a Dental Hygienist Treatment?

Most Dentists do carry out Hygienist work but often Dentists cannot spend a long time discussing your dental history and teeth cleaning habits.

However as Dental Hygiene is their main priority, a Dental Hygienist can work with you to come up with a plan to ensure your teeth stay clean and healthy, this may require more than regular appointments.

Often is the case that a Dental Hygienist will work with the patient to prep and clean their teeth ready for Dental Treatments i.e. Crowns, Fillings, Dentures.

At Bromsgrove Dental all of our Dentists are fully qualified to perform Hygienist treatments and will gladly spend the time to discuss your oral health and how it can be improved.

Should children visit the Dental Hygienist?

Definitely! Children would certainly benefit from visiting the Hygienist to ensure their teeth are being cleaned properly by both parent and child.

It can be a fun learning experience (especially using the Blue Disclosing Tablets) and can help them be more aware of Dental Hygiene.

I have Sensitive Teeth, will Hygienist Treatment hurt?

Treatment is usually pain free however if you a nervous or have sensitive teeth then the hygienist can use an anaesthetic cream or even give you a local anaesthesia.

Please let us know in advance prior to you appointment if you are worried or suffer from sensitivity and we can ensure that your treatment will be as comfortable and worry free as possible.
