What is a Dental Bridge?

If one or more of your teeth are missing then you can have a Dental Bridge fitted which will fill the gap.

As well as aesthetic reasons it could also make chewing food tricky so a bridge is a great option to replace missing teeth with very realistic ones and provide support to the surrounding bone and teeth.

At Bromsgrove Dental we use Porcelain Dental Bridges so no one will ne able to tell the difference between them and your real teeth.

Unlike Dental Implants, a Dental Bridge can be measured at your first appointment and then after being made, fixed firmly in place on your second appointment.

The teeth either side of the missing teeth will be crowned and the bridge will be firmly fixed to them. You can also have a Bridge that is secured to a Dental Implant if the teeth either side are not suitable.

Can anyone have a Dental Bridge?

If you have strong enough teeth and bone support either side of the missing teeth and you haven’t allowed the gap to close up then you should be suitable for a Bridge.

As soon as you have lost your teeth, get in touch with us so we can discuss your options.

How can I look after my Bridge?

Just like your teeth, you will need to clean them every day to ensure you prevent problems such as bad breath and gum disease caused by trapped food.

We will ensure you are provided with all the help and advice you need to look after your bridge such as using special dental floss or a bridge needle to help reach the places as brush can’t.

How long does a Bridge last?

If you look after your Dental Bridge it will last 10-15 years
